So we have a date… see you then! 😉
There’s no human who doesn’t get at-least one butterfly in their stomach when they hear these lines 🙂
But living in a metro city comes with the inconvenience of having one too many option to choose from, in hangout-places, in movie theatres and in restaurants! Both a boon and a curse.
So with valentine’s day around the corner, to save your precious time I am compiling a list of most beautiful and quaint cafés in the town which will definitely give you and your loved one an unforgettable experience.
1. Cafe D’hide, Koramangla
Starting off with the one place that looks like a scene from a dream you once had while you dozed off on a happy summer day. This place is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Koramangla. Once you enter this small and cozy café, your eyes will be hit with all sorts of cute decor adorning the walls.
There’s a small counter in the center of the café which displays an array of droolworthy fresh-baked goodies. The seating arrangements are comfortable and placed at an ample distance from one another.
Coming to the food section, they have a finger food menu consisting of a number of regular snacks like sandwiches, burgers, nachos etc, but they also have an extensive menu of main course that allows you to choose from dishes like lasagna, Spaghetti Aglio Olio, Fish n Chips and likewise. They also offer a variety of coffee and hot chocolates.
Pro Tip: If you visit for breakfast don’t miss out on the breakfast special D’hide toasts and café mocha 🙂
2. Cafe Botaniq, Indiranagar
Indiranagar, the heart of the city, is absolutely filled with cafes and restaurants of different cuisines but in my opinion Cafe Botaniq deserves special mention because of it’s perfect ambiance, excellent service and extremely tasty food!
Another reason why this cafe deserves special mention is because all the seats are placed near one window or another which gives a nice city view along with your coffee n conversation.
All the food items I have tried out here tasted equally good and difficult to pick a favorite from.
Pro tip: Do not miss their Egg Benedict and Hot chocolate with marshmallows if you decide to visit.
3. Ozruv, Whitefield
This is a bit different from the mainstream cafes in the city as this is a Kashmiri café but I would love to include it in this list because of its dreamy ambiance and beautiful old world charm and exquisite menu.
This is an extremely spacious place that has different kinds of seating arrangements from wooden table-chairs to recliners to comfortable floor seating and ottomans. The wooden floors and ceilings and open windows add to the beautiful decor of this place.
The menu again is slightly different from the normal cafes that we are used to visit. The Kashmiri kahwa, or flavored tea along with the biscuits is a must try and definitely worth a visit. The Sulemani Chai is also equally good.
Coming to food, they offer a range of tasty kebabs, tikkas, pakodas in both veg and non veg options for snacks.
And if you visit for luncheon, you are in for a treat since the mutton Rogan Josh is absolutely mouth watering:)
Pro tip: If you are a non vegetarian, try out the maaz Tehri, you won’t be disappointed 🙂
4. Giselle Resto Cafe, Kammanahalli
If you love outdoor seating, Giselle Resto Cafe is a must-visit for you. I am an avid visitor of cafes and I must say I have rarely found a better outdoor ambiance than what this one offers.
The indoor seating arrangement is also quite refreshing with leather covered booths instead of normal chairs.
The special thing in their menu is the number of refreshing mocktails they have. Starting from mojitos to coolers to shakes, I must say there are quite a few refreshments, and are presented incredibly artfully.
Coming to food, the menu is really versatile. Whether it is ravioli or wings, burger or tacos, steaks or sizzlers you are bound to find something you like. They also have a good variety of woodfire pizzas. Tempted yet ? 🙂
The breakfast platter is a bit expensive but comes really loaded (read, can be split by two) and includes fresh fruits also.
Pro tip: If you go for bruch, do check out the Breakfast burger 🙂
5. Matteo Coffea, Church St.
Saving the best for the last, the café I visited on my second day in Bangalore, holds a very special place in my heart. I have spent countless hours just sipping my coffee and reading my new book here.
It gives a view of the entire church street and is a must visit place for all the coffee lovers out there.
They make an excellent cheese croissant and an unbeatable blueberry cheesecake 🙂 The above picture gives away my obvious favorites.
I fell in love with this new city a bit when I visited this café and just sat back and watched the people sitting at the patio outside it.
The food menu has limited options, but all of them are extremely well made. The three layered chicken club sandwich, that comes with the choice of bread, remains another one of my favorites here.
Pro Tip: If you are a coffee lover, do not miss their chocolate espresso, which is basically a mix of chocolate in a single shot espresso that tastes heavenly.
So there you go.. now that I have sorted out the place for you, all you need to do now is to ask the person you are dying to ask:
Will you go out on a date with me? 😉
